Sean Patrick Flanery was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on October 11, 1965. However he was raised in Houston, Texas. His father was a medical equipment salesman and his mother a real estate broker. He attented Awty Internation School and graduated from Dulles High School in Sugarland. Later, he attended the University of St. Thomas, in Houston.
He started acting in college after he joined a class to meet his crush. The crush was short lived, but he found his love for acting instead. Later he moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue his acting. Since 1988, he has appeared in more then 53 films including The Boondock Saints, Powder and Simply Irrestistible. He’s best known for playing Indiana Jones in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. He was also in The Dead Zone, where he played the role of Vice-President Greg Stillson until it was cancelled.
Sean holds a black belt in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu and a black belt in karate. He has a dog named Donut who was named after the amount of donuts she ate after being adopted by Sean. He won the 1997 Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race at the Grand Prix of Long Beach as a celebrity driver. The Alfonso Ribeiro rule forced him to ‘defend’ the title as a professional driver under TGPLB rules and won the 1998 race as a professional driver. As you can tell, he’s multi-talented in all his fields.
Ten years later, Sean returns to his role as Connor MacManus in the sequel to The Boondock Saints entitled The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. It’s something every fan of the cult has been looking forward to.
